Keeping Our Eyes On God

The Wuhan virus blew in with thunder. Some parts of the world ignored it, to their peril. Other parts hid the way they dealt with it. But for the most part, the world is coming together to face this threat by combining several ideas that appear to ameliorate this pestilence, if not yet annihilate it. All well and good, but it would greatly behoove us to turn to our unbeatable God. Some might say, ‘Why turn to Him if He turned this great evil upon us, or has been lax in helping us in our plight, because He just might not be the good God that we’ve been told He was?’

For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. Ps. 100:5 NLT

God is good! He is the opposite of evil. He does not create things to purposely snuff out our lives:

We know [for a fact] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] lies in the power of the evil one [opposing God and His precepts]. 1 Jn. 5:19 AMP

Evil is opposed to good, opposed to love, opposed to God. Jehovah wants us to reflect His image as we were created:

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but [imitate] what is good. The one who practices good [exhibiting godly character, moral courage and personal integrity] is of God… 3 Jn. 1:11 AMP

When most things go awry, it is because of something people have done, e.g. wage wars. We see this in this current crisis. It is a fact that the Wuhan virus originated in the vicinity of Wuhan. Researches in that region of the world tried to warn the world of its potential devastation before they ‘disappeared.’
So, this leaves us with 3 possible scenarios: The virus was developed in a biowarfare lab and purposely released, or it was accidentally released, or it was a chance mutant combination derived from the regional wet markets’ horrendous environment.
Regardless of whether it was purposeful or inadvertent, humans were at fault. You cannot blame God.
What we have to take caution in, is falling into the media / political (they are one in the same) propaganda trap, to keep us in a frenzy of chaotic fear – screaming for global shutdown to create an irreparable economic crash. We have to come back to common sense.
But mostly, we need to be keeping our eyes on God. He knows everything. Even if what is happening is destructive, Jehovah will use it for our good. We can already see some of it.
People are coming together from their homes albeit technologically. Acts of kindness are sprouting out worldwide. We are getting a break from this frenzy that we have made of life and seeing what is truly valuable.
Some, hopefully many, are returning to God, as they see just how fragile our existence in this world is.
That’s the big lesson. Jehovah God is the way out. He loves us so much and He will deliver us – if we ask (pray)…

You Can Handle Anything with Jesus

I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens me [to fulfill His purpose – I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] Phil. 4:13 AMP

The world has been in troubled times for eons due to wars, famine, plagues and natural disasters. All these misfortunes have a single source – godlessness.

God created the earth to be a paradise, a love-filled, peace-filled place for His immortal subjects to enjoy, in communion with Him. Unfortunately, we know how that turned out: a fallen world filled with fallen people, because the First Parents rebelled against their Creator.

Thankfully, God already a plan of redemption in place – through the incarnation, death and resurrection of His Son. Those that connect with God’s plan are delivered from all things, even if the deliverance comes in unexpected ways.

Nevertheless, let us fortify ourselves:

Behold, I am with you and will keep [careful watch over you and guard] you wherever you may go… Gn. 28:15 AMP

“…I will fulfill the number of your days.” Ex. 23:26 NKJV

…the LORD your God carried you, just as a man carries his son. Dt. 1:31 NASB

“…for nothing can hinder the LORD from saving by many or by few.” 1 Sam. 14:6 ESV

“Does not God see my ways and count all my steps?” Job 34:1 AMP

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Ps. 91:11 ESV

This fortification continues through Jesus:

“According to your faith [your trust and confidence in My power and My ability to heal] it shall be done to you.” Mt. 9:29 AMP

So, the world is wracked with anxiety over this latest plague, the much-ballyhooed Wuhan virus apocalypse, which is soon to peter out – putting mud on the face of the doomsayers. It doesn’t hold a candle to many of the outbreaks that have gone before.

Hold tight to your God, to your Jesus. You can handle anything with them. They have your back.

But, let’s say that you did succumb to this ‘disease,’ which would mean you’re are much older and / or have underlying health issues, (still only consisting of a very small percentage of those infected), God’s even got that handled. You are in His plan:

…God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall receive me. Ps. 49:15 NKJV

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life…” Jn. 5:24 NKJV

Be smart, but be fearless…

Goodnight and God bless.
